Debating health care reform
In lieu of last night’s health care reform vote, I figured this would be a topical post. Two groups of protestors gathered outside the office of Ohio Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy last week to vocalize their positions on the issue. Most of the protestors stayed on separate sides of a divided driveway, but those few who crossed over were met with some heated argument.
We didn’t have a photographer assigned to the protest, and I hadn’t even heard that it was taking place. I was actually on my way back to the office from another assignment in Grandview when I stumbled across the protestors making signs and setting up. With nothing else assigned for me to do the rest of the day, I pulled into a nearby parking lot to see what the fuss was all about. We don’t cover a lot of news events at the paper I work at, so given the historic significance of the debate, I’m really glad I stopped.
